Description

I wanted to create a dreamy and soothing space inspired by the sea.

Design Inspiration

I knew that I wanted ocean waves as the focal point for the crib wall and then went from there with whale and nautical patterns.

Decorating Style

I like coastal, shabby chic and cottage style and wanted the nursery to flow with our house but also be fun and exciting for the baby

Project Details

I made the clouds and then I sewed fishing wire with gems to catch the light and create a cool wall effect. I also made the nursery letters. I downloaded craft paper patterns on etsy and then printed them at kinkos since my printer sucks. I didn't find the right patterns at the craft store. I used modge podge and a crafting knife to make the letters. I bought some of furnishings at home goods and the whale and ship prints on etsy as well. The bedding is from RHbaby.com and the glider is from pottery barn in the baldwin mini stripe. The curtain finials were on sale at land of nod and the curtains are from ikea. I also got the spice racks from ikea, primed and spray painted them navy blue with krylon to make the bookshelves

Favorite Items

I think the sea wallpaper is my favorite as its just so dreamy and soothing and creates a nice focal point.

Advice

I kept a little folder of all the stuff I loved, and of course pinterest and project nursery were amazing resources
