My friends requested that I help them convert their spare room into a nursery while also keeping its function as a guest room. They had already purchased most of the major furniture so I just had to add a few extra pieces and create a cohesive design. Please enjoy my inspiration board! My friend's personal style is fresh and modern -- that is what I based this room design on.
Clean and modern with a touch of whimsy. I love a stylish space that is also playful.
Bringing elements from many different stores / brands creates dimension and novelty within a space. For cohesion, just make sure to keep the color palette relatively tight. In addition, when purchasing baby furniture, try to choose pieces that have longevity past the nursery. For example, for the glider, I wanted to make sure it was a chic chair that they could use in the guest room after their son had grown up...it could also easily move into other rooms! If you're going to invest in quality furniture, you might as well make sure it has staying power!
I absolutely adore the paper lanterns and the paper pom balls -- it adds an element of whimsy to the room. In addition, I am a big fan of the Jennifer Delonge Glider. It is stylish, brings a nice pop of color into the room and isn't overtly a glider.
Have fun with it!
