Project Details

Crib: JC Penney; Sailboat above crib: 1)Letters for name and bottom of boat from Buy Buy Baby and spray painted brown 2)Sails above crib:  Fabric from Hancock Fabrics and sewed triangular pockets and filled them with Fiberloft Polyester Stuffing. Dowel from Hancock Fabrics for the Mast; Dresser: Right here from Ikea; Hamper: Buy Buy Baby; Striped bag: Homegoods and holds wipes, diaper cream, hand sanitizer; Changing pad/Cover: Buy Buy Baby; Anchor Lamp: Home Goods; Starfish: Walmart and hung on fishing line at the both ends of the curtain rod; Ship wheel mirror: find hereCurtains and Bedding: Pottery Barn Kids; Life Preservers: from this company, but exact ones are no longer available, I hung three from the ceiling in the corner; Shag Rug: Ikea; Painting: Mural and stripes painted by my parents and me.  We used painters tape for the stripes and needed at least 5 coats for the dark blue stripes.  We used a level to apply the tape and did the stripes random.  We designed/printed the mural on an 8.5 x 11 sheet and drew it into 8 quadrants.  Then we sketched each quadrant on the wall with a pencil and then painted it!  Oar above Mural:  a gift from Pottery Barn

I have seen quite a number of nautical nurseries here. But I think this is the first one that used the combination of blue and yellow. I think it's a unique color scheme and I like how you worked it. The contrast is pretty neat.

I really like the life savers and the navy blue stripes on the wall. This room is really perfect for a little boy.
