Nautical 1st Birthday Party

Description

Dillon's nautical 1st birthday party was held at liberty lands park in northern liberties philadelphia on aug 23, 2014. The entire party had a running theme of sailboat's and anchors throughout all the decor and details. I wanted to make this party as fun and modern as I could for a first birthday party.

Design Inspiration

The name Dillon. It means man of the sea. I knew we had to then have his very first party be nautical themed.

Decorating Style

Clean, hip, modern, and fun

Project Details

A lot of the decor items I found at Homegoods and Marshalls. I love going there because I am able to find great detail pieces and for a good price. A lot of the DIY projects I did I found the materials from again HomeGoods and AcMoore. I hand painted all the white paper cups to look like they had ocean waves on them. I hand made the ships wheel chandelier by spray painting, glueing all the hemp string, and then tying the candle holders to the wheel. I also hand made the boat that I used as the back drop for the candy table. I bought colored tissue paper and individually twisted and stapled them to the core foam board. My mom and I sat up one night and tying all the hemp string around the napkins and flatware and added lifesavers for that special final touch. Also I hand made the cake pop holders and used real sad to cover the bottom.I hand put together all the thank you gifts, centerpieces, and many more details. This party was all about DIY and details details details.

Favorite Items

I have to say there were so many items that were favorites of mine but my absolute favorite was the ships wheel chandelier. I just love it and thought it was a different and unique touch to this event

This presentation is just precious. Ms Widdell's nautical-theme presentation is simply toddler elegance. I give this five stars.
