My Baby Girl’s Nursery

Description

Light, Bright, and Fun!

Design Inspiration

I wanted to keep the nursery light, bright, and fun. I wanted it to have features that would engage my daughter's attention, but at the same time not be over stimulating.

Decorating Style

Simple, fresh, and full of life.

Project Details

The white furniture pieces are all from Ikea, including mobile and frames.

I've taken the glass and backing off the frames and placed them around animal decals I bought from Masters Hardware for $7.00.

The spots on the wardrobe doors are also decals from Masters Hardware for $12.00

The owls I bought off ebay as a set for $15.00.

The fruit slice suitcases were a great find at Seed Heritage, I absolutely love them!

The pom poms over the windows were a gift from a girlfriend to use at my baby shower, I've kept them as a permanent piece in the nursery because they add great colour and so much fun.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt was handmade by a friends Mum as a baby shower gift, it's absolutely beautiful.

You may have also noticed that we have a camera set up on the under side of the shelf, this is so that my husband can log on and watch the baby sleep while he's at work and missing her :)

The draw dividers and wooden coat hangers are also from Ikea, the dividers are a life saver! I've also used these as storage under the change table.

I'm still looking for the right rug for the floor, it's proving difficult.

Overall this was a very affordable nursery makeover with a lot of DIY, I've enjoyed every minute of it.

Favorite Items

My favourite item would have to be the fruit slice suitcases, right now they're decorative, but one day she'll use them for her toys.

Advice

Don't be afraid of a bit of DIY, it's a lot easier and a lot more fun than you realise.

Love the white walls and the white furniture. Everything looks really clean and crisp and it highlights all the colorful little details.
