Molly’s Chevron 1st Birthday Party

Description

A bright, cherry 1st birthday party, using chevrons, stripes, and polka dots in hot pink, aqua blue, and lemon yellow.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by the shapes and patterns and how to make them work together, yet stand alone at the same time.

Project Details

The only thing my husband and I didn't design/create ourselves were the party favors, which were hand made by dear friends of ours. I designed the invites, banner, and thank you tags on my computer and had them printed locally. Using a chevron stamp I made out of an eraser, I hand stamped all of the wooden silverware and the clothespins used to hang the banner. My husband die cut all of the letters, then together we attached them to the banner. He and I made marshmallow fondant, then created the toppers. They took a few tries, but in the end we were happy with them. We also cooked all the food we served: curry chicken salad, pasta with fresh veggies, fresh fruit salad and pink lemonade cupcakes.
