We love the client's colorful touches around the room. Turquoise & black patterned bedding is fun and unexpected- and shows a great mix of modern and traditional patterns!

Design Inspiration:
This nursery was concepted by our client and we were there to make sure her vision was carried out to perfection. The striped walls were the driving inspiration behind everything in the room- she wanted to keep it gender neutral, fresh, and airy.

Project Details:
I hired a professional painter/muralist to create the dramatic 12" stripes. Painting tonal stripes creates a beautiful effect but if you attempt to do it yourself, the key is in the prepwork- use professional painter's tape and a level and make sure you get a good seal so the edges are straight and don't bleed. The furniture is from Bratt Decor, and the rug is Dash & Albert.

Favorite Items:
It's a tie- I love love love the rug! It's so modern and would work in any room of the house. And the chandelier is the same way- so unexpected for a nursery but it really works.

Advice:
Forget the accent wall- go bold and create a dramatic effect all the way around the room! With the right colors (tonal) and proportions (large scale so it doesn't look too busy) you can make it work. Check out www.Lilli-design.com for more design inspiration!
