I created a gender neutral nursery for my baby (it's a GIRL!) using bold colors and patterns with a safari theme.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by the monkey wallpaper I sourced from Anthropologie - it created a bold, animal-themed backdrop on which to build the rest of the room.

Decorating Style

Eclectic, whimsical and bold.

Project Details

Wallpaper: Anthropologie (no longer available)

Glider: Land of Nod

Crib: Babyletto

Changing Table: DIY - Refinished bamboo dresser in kelly green lacquer.

Bench: DIY - IKEA storage tower with baskets and homemade cushion top and pillows from Ikea fabric.

Mobile: Pottery Barn Kids

Mirror: Anthropologie

Changing Pad: Keekaroo Peanut

Favorite Items

I love the refinished dresser - it adds a pop of color. The glider is so comfortable and adds a nice contrast and pattern to the room.

Search Craigslist for dressers that can be refinished and Ikea has some great DIY project opportunities. Invest in a quality glider and be sure that the room reflects your personality but provides plenty of visual stimulus for the little one! Have fun hunting for unique pieces.
