A mint green boy's nursery with a sophisticated color palette and neutral furnishings that work well with the rest of the family's home decor.
My client knew she wanted sophisticated look and nothing that was typical boy. So we decided on a mint green color palette that she loved. After finding this amazingly beautiful wallpaper that is very watercolor and cloud-like, we knew that the rest of the room would fall into place.
I like designing kids spaces without a specific theme so that the room can't easily be dated. This color palette is soft and neutral and we were still able to add dreamy pieces like the ceiling crown canopy without it looking feminine.
Wanting to add beautiful elements without making the room look or feel too feminine, the watercolor wallpaper is like a cloud-like backdrop to the crown canopy that drapes the sides of the RH Baby & Child upholstered crib so nicely, yet very gender neutral. A soft beaded chandelier adds a touch of charm and of course the elephant wall sconces were just too adorable to resist!
Elephant wall sconces by Jonathan Adler. These were the key in giving this sophisticated space a youthful glow.
Less is more when it comes to boys rooms and finding unique items like the wallpaper and giraffe sconces help with defining the character of the room without overloading it with themed items.
