Mikaela’s Nautical Nursery

Description

Once I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted a nautical nursery. When I found out I was having a girl I knew it would be a bit challenging since most nautical stuff is navy and red. Then my sister made me a quilt for my baby shower that used fabric from fabric designer Tula Pink that was coral, aqua and green. I was obsessed and used that as my inspiration.

Design Inspiration

The baby quilt my sister made for me.

Decorating Style

The rest of my house is more modern. But i'd say this room is vintage cottage feel.

Project Details

It started with the quilt and I wanted to do the bedding to match the quilt but the Neptune line for Tula Pink was no longer being made so I went with her Prince Charming line which had the same corals and had frogs on it which went with the nautical theme. Her website is www.tulapink.com

I found a lot of accessories at home goods. The flip flop lamp, the lobster pillow, the bouy, the beach box light, the silver steering wheel.

The candle and lantern are from yankee candle.

The crib and changing table are from Babie's R Us and its the Lauren line.Very affordable and not gigantic since the room is not that big to begin with.

The dresser and nightstand I found at  salvation army for 150 bucks for both! I think we ended getting it for 100. They were UGLY when we got them but a little TLC, paint and a change of draw pulls and I love them.

Her name I made myself with letters and scrapbook paper from Michael's. Then I just hung fishing net and the shells which are actually suppose to be xmas garland for your tree!

That is the greatest! Can your sister tell me where to get that quilt pattern? My daughter in law is expecting her first, and I am a quilter. Looks like we have a winner if I can locate the pattern. Kathy
