- A Project For: Max
- Age: 2 months
- Location: QLD, Australia
-
Description:
Throughout my pregnancy, the only thing that came second to my baby's health, was finishing his nursery! The room was a big part of my pregnancy, and when I was admitted to hospital at 30 weeks, I thought I would never get it done! However, my wonderful family finished my room for me by 34 weeks, when Max was born!

Design Inspiration:
I painted the room a gender neutral colour that I liked and pretty much went on from there! I figured that if I was having a girl, I could use pink, for a boy, yellow. I wanted a room that was visually stimulating and pretty. I was intent on using owls as a theme for my room, but had trouble finding owl themed decor for a boy's room. However, I stumbled across Myer's Licorice range and fell in love! I bought one of everything. :)

Decorating Style:
I am a bold and colourful person, and I would like that to reflect on my decorating style. I aim for deep bold colours that light up the whole room, with bright accents and cute touches.
-
Project Details:
The owl bed sheets, bookends, plush toy and photo frames are all the Licorice brand found at Myer. A lot of my little touches, such as the letters and lanterns came from $2 shops in my area. The little bookshelf was an old dvd case that my partner had in his bachelor life. I brought it back to life by sanding it and painting it white.

Favorite Items:
I'm in love with those owl bookends. They're so cute.

Advice:
A nursery doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars. All up I spent around $600. I sourced a lot of things from junk shops, and gave old or second hand items a new life.
