Mason Reef’s Nursery

Description

Comfortably modern

Design Inspiration

My husband and I wanted a room with clean lines and less clutter but yet a place that feels cozy.  The canvas portrait in the room with the surfer walking along the beach was our inspiration.

Decorating Style

I went with more of a modern style. We didn't want anything too baby'ish so we went with a paint scheme he can grow into.

Project Details

The CRIB is a two-toned Baby letto Modo 3-in-1 convertable crib. For the stripes on the WALL, I bought "oops paint" from home depot  which is easier on your wallet.  I used the snap chalk for the lines on the wall and free hand painted it with a sponge brush because of the textured walls in the room. It took a little patience but all worth it.  I used the same paint for the dresser and changing table which were both hand me downs.  The PUFF BALLS were all hand made, inspiration by Martha Stewart.  I just bought the tissue paper and crafted it myself.  I learned how to make the puff balls by going online.  Too keep the room clean and free of clutter (for the time being), the orange FOOT STOOLS are storage bins from Target. The tops do come off for more storage. The INITIALS on the wall above the crib is made by using canvas and wooden blocks. The QUILT is a one of a kind blanket that was a gift. It is a Dr. Seuss print.

Advice

Look at other nurseries and pick different ideas from each room you like and make it your own. Start early and slowly build the room. You will be less likely to stress out. Get advice from your friends with the same style you have.
