A Project For
I wanted a girly room for my daughter without painting the walls pink or making it overly BABY! I wanted it sweet, simple, and welcoming. By using blue as the main color and pops of pink around the room, I think we accomplished the exact look we were going for.
The inspiration for this room came initially from the damask fabric. I found it online at www.babybedding.com, but did not love the coordinating fabrics that they had with it. I ordered just the fabric alone and found other fabrics I liked better to go with it. I also wanted to incorporate vintage looking pieces and pictures and doll furniture from my childhood to give it an eclectic and comfortable vibe.
Classic, southern, eclectic, warm and inviting
Crib - Craigslist Rocker/Recliner: This was a chair my mom had. I bought the fabric at a local fabric store and had the chair recovered. Dresser/Changing table: Craigslist Bookshelf: Target Fabric: Damask Fabric - http://www.babybedding.com/love-birds-crib-bedding Dot and Houndstooth fabric are from a local fabric store. Doll Stroller/Coat Rack: Mine from my childhood Pictures/Prints: Debbie Kingston is the artist. These were mine from my room as a child Mirror: Old window from craigslist that I painted and had mirror pieces put in. Mirrors above bed and lamp: Worlds Away Furniture Bird Mobile: Made my a friend If I'm missing something, just ask!
I can't pick just one thing. I love the window mirror and the crib. These are probably two of my favorites.
Take your time and find the items you want. Don't just buy the first thing you see to fill a space. Look around your house and see if you have old pictures that you could paint the frames and search Craigslist for items you could paint as well!
