Maebri’s Spunky But Sweet Nursery!

Description

A bright, fun and meaningful space for our little girl.

Design Inspiration

We found out we were having a girl at 14 weeks along, and I started slowly working on the room and finding things we loved. I knew I wanted pink, yellow and aqua. I LOVE to DIY and find pieces that have meaning to us. A lot of inspiration came from nurseries on Project Nursery! Two of my favorites are "London's Big Girl Room" and "Lila's Chevron Nursery".

Decorating Style

Colorful, sweet and fun!

Project Details

A lot of items came from Etsy and are just a combination of things we love. Several things are DIY and a TON of spray paint was used! The breakdown: Curtains: bought white curtains from target and hot glued pink Pom Pom trim on.  Crib and changing table: Ashbury 2 pc collection. Bumperless crib bedding: custom made by Leah Ashley (Etsy shop leahashleyokc). Owl wall decal: Etsy shop LucyLews. Crib side table: Marshall's. Little rocking chair  was mine I spray painted it yellow. Butterfly glitter mobile: Pottery Barn Kids. Stacking baskets: Land of Nod. Bookshelves: target. Owl bookends: found at Hallmark and spray painted yellow and added hairbows. Hairbow holder: found frame at Hobby Lobby and hot glued ribbon to hold bows. Pink rug and pink owl night light: Kirkland's. Chest of drawers: Ashley Furniture. Pink minky rocker: local store called Children's Fair. Bird cages: thrift stores and sprayed black. Picture frames mostly came from Hobby Lobby, Goodwill and one's I already had that we sprayed pink, yellow, aqua, white or black. Cut out  little girl silhouette and colored with a black sharpie. Dog prints from squarepaisleydesign on Etsy. TN print from LilyGene on Etsy. ABC print, Good Morning Beautiful, and yellow Fearfully and Wonderfully Made prints all from Etsy shop ginnyphillips (from London's Big Girl Room!). Owl prints: Tessyla on Etsy. Skull and Cupcake prints: zazzle.com. Pink flowers are from my wedding bouquet. "It's a girl" is a piece of balloon from the gender reveal party we had. The M is a wooden letter that I mod podged pink paper onto and hot glued ribbon to hang it. Mirrored love sign and pink fleur de lis: Hobby Lobby. Chandelier in closet I made from paint sample strips. Chest in closet: antique that I sprayed pink and added fabric to doors. Closet dividers are wooden letter O's that I mod podged paper onto and added numbers.

Favorite Items

I adore every single thing in this room. I love the wall of frames because so many of the prints have special meaning to us (the chihuhua and boxer prints look exactly like our dogs!) I also love the yellow rocking chair, bedding and super comfy pink minky rocker! Every time I walk by or go in her room it makes me smile :)

Advice

Make it your own! Don't worry about finding a theme, just go with things you love and that are special to you and you can't go wrong. For us, it was owls, girly skulls, family, our animals and some bling!
