Madison in ONEderland First Birthday Party

Description

We were celebrating our daughter, Madison Blue's first birthday party. "Madison in ONEderland".

Design Inspiration

I loved the play on words, Wonderland/ONEderland, so I had to go with the Alice in Wonderland theme. All the props worked really well in our backyard. We had teapots, bunnys, flamingos and clocks everywhere! My daughters middle name is Blue, so Alice's blue dress played an important color throughout the party.

Project Details

My party was an outdoor tea party. We had lots of tea pots, clocks, flamingos, bunnys and mushrooms as part of the decor. I bought most of the tea pots at Home Goods. The Flamingos I found at the dollar store. My friend hand painted the "this way" "that way" wooden signs from Michaels. All the photo props my friend created them on illustrator, I printed them on printed paper. The "ONE" letters on the tree I bought at Joanne's and covered them in moss. The mushrooms under the tree I made out of spray painted mixing bowls & we cut some branches off our tree and screwed them to the bowls. The "I am ONE" sign for her highchair I found at Michaels & glued the glittered letters to it.

Favorite Items

My favorite item would have to be my daughters dress. I didnt want some ordinary party dress or a tutu. I found this amazing dress on Etsy by Lover Dover. It fit the occasion perfect!

Advice

Take your time! My party took me a year to find all the items, mostly because they were seasonal things. Also research pinterest for inspiration!
