I was looking to create a calming nursery that was girly but not in the traditional sense. As much fun as pink can be, I really wanted a room that was inspired by the outdoors.
This room is very small ( 8x9 ) so I had to find furniture that wouldn't overwhelm the room. The cib is actually a mini-crib.
Design Inspiration:

Decorating Style:
Cottage style/ transitional
Project Details:
Paint color is Benjamin Moore- Robin's Nest
The mobile, the bunting and the pillow were handmade.
The rocking chair is from Meijer
The bedding was from target ( before I knew the sex of the baby)
I spray painted the bird houses on the wall ( they were only $1.00 from the craft store)
The crib is the Anabelle mini crib.
The rug is from overstock.com
The shelving is from Ikea
The changing table came from Babies R Us.
The tree decal was a zulily score however you can find it on the internet from different decal websites.
Favorite Items:
My favorite part of the nursery is the color palette- It feels sunny and cheerful- even on a gloomy day in January.
Advice:
I start a new room by scouring the internet for ideas, then I put them them all together in photoshop before I start shopping for similar items.
You don't have to come up with something that's never been done- it's just important that you love the final product.

Love the colors you used. They’re very cool and fresh to the eyes, and very soothing too. And that bedding is a keeper!

Beautiful room! I think that we have the same caged-birdies (one of the last pictures) in our girls’ room! My great-grandmother (who passed away when I was 20 and she was 96!) had a singing caged-bird that I so loved all through my childhood. I found a pretty good replica (I think the same one as shown here) and gave them to my girls for Christmas one year!! So love it!!

I love the soft greens, the soft blues and the soft yellows in your entire color scheme. The rooms feels so light and positive.

Incredible Elizabeth! Very very blissful. I love the curtains, all the colors and want to fall asleep sitting in that rocking chair! The natural light is absolutely perfect. You and Jason are going to b amazing parents! It will let me “like” this, but am I supposed to click vote somewhere?
