Maddox’s Nursery

Description

Yellow & Gray Nursery for Baby Boy

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by several other nurseries I saw online with the same color scheme.  I was hoping to create a space that was cheerful and bright. I wanted the nursery to be engaging for Maddox as he grows.

Decorating Style

My style is a mix of traditional and contemporary.  I like fun fabrics and whimsical patterns.  I prefer spaces that are more clean in style without too much clutter.

Project Details

My husband built the shallow wall bookshelves which were inspired by the Jennifer Delonge shelves. The dresser is the Hemnes from Ikea as well as the tall bookshelf in the corner. We painted the back of the tall bookshelf for a pop of color. My husband also built the cornice above the window and my mother and I made the crib skirt and the cornice covering. I had the changing cover and crib sheet custom made. The giraffe decal we ordered from Etsy.

Favorite Items

It's a tie - The forward facing bookshelves are one of my favorite parts of the nursery.  I love that we can change out the books and bring a pop of color to the gray walls. My other favorite item is the J Schatz egg nightlight. It reflects star light shapes on the ceiling and walls at night and makes the room look magical.

Advice

Take your time and think about the overall look you hope to achieve. I put together the room slowly over the course of my pregnancy, but I'm very happy with the cohesiveness.

Love your room! I'm doing the same combo for my little girl. Where did you get and what is the name of the color you used on the wall?
