Lucy’s Functional and Bright Nursery

Description

A modern, bright, clean and functional nursery that needs to occasionally double as a guest room.

Design Inspiration

The little cat next to the lamp was my inspiration. I found it at a local artisans fair and loved the color and feel of it.

Decorating Style

Our style is more contemporary. We used white and gray as base colors and mostly clean lines.

The nursery will also double as a guest room and we wanted our baby to be able to grow in it.  So we got functional furniture that would work years down the road.

Project Details

Paint

Valspar passive gray and gray (accent wall)

The birch tree and butterflies decal I got in A Baby Wall (Etsy)

Furniture

Crib is from Pottery Barn Kids – circa 2007

Changing Station/Dresser – custom made and the knobs are from Anthropologie

Rocker – had it made at a local furniture store

Night stand – repurposed end table

Trundle Bed – had it made at a local furniture store so that it would be two XL twin beds and would comfortably fit an adult on each level.

Bookcase – had it made at a local furniture store.

Bedding

The skirt and changing pads I got from Miss Polly Piece Goods (Etsy)

The crib sheets are Magnolia Organics Crib Fitted Sheet  and were purchased at Amazon

The trundle bed bedding is from Land of Nod

Wall Decor and Accessories

The butterfly mobile, dolls and prints were all Etsy finds

I made the lettering for baby Lucia’s name by painting chipboard letters and covering chipboard coasters with scrapbooking paper.

Most of the storage (baskets and buckets) were purchased at Land of Nod

Favorite Items

The inspiration cat next to the lamp and the super comfy rocker with the great view out of the sliding doors. Can't wait to use it!
