Liam’s Alligator Nursery

Description

For my son I want something that was boyish but still with good use of color. I love how his nursery turned out! A lot of things were DIY projects to save on the budget like the curtains, dresser, and pegboard.

Design Inspiration

I used the Pottery Barn Alligator Madras Nursery bedding as my jumping off point. I like it because the great use of primary colors, especially navy and green and the use of alligators. That was my jumping off point for all the accessories.

Decorating Style

I wanted a nursery that he could grow with.

Project Details

I bought the dresser off craigslist and refurbished it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Aubusson Blue. My dad made the pegboard above the dresser from a tutorial I found on pinterest. I didn't want to spend $100 for curtains so I purchased $10 curtains and a $6 sheet and used no sew hem tape to get the same effect. Also the crib skirt is another $6 sheet pinned under the bed. I also looked around the house to find things to decorate his bookshelf.

Favorite Items

I love my new sew curtains and the cute suitcases on the bookshelf.

Advice

I had zero energy while pregnant. In fact we picked the dresser off craigslist on the way to the hospital to be induced. Don't feel like everything has to be perfect when the baby comes!

Wondering where I can find pegboard baskets? No one seems to carry these ;)

Nice, with a little surprise. The crib corner has soft, neutral colors with hints of red. Then when I looked at the other photos, it revealed the rest of the room, which is full of bright and playful colors.
