Description:
At Little Crown Interiors, we’re currently jumping up and down, alternating with pinching ourselves. We just completed a design for celebrity Mommy Laila Ali, and we finally get to share it with Project Nursery readers.

Design Inspiration:
Also featured in this nursery design is a breathtaking custom artwork piece, created by the skilled team at Art.com. Above the “Hope” Crib, hangs a large photo of Muhammad Ali holding his infant daughter Laila, stretched onto canvas – a very personal element and a key focal point in the room. On each side of the stretched canvas is a sweet little mirror by Pottery Barn Kids.

Project Details:
First, we placed the absolutely fantastic organic Naturalmat mattress in the crib – little Sydney is going to be so safe and so cozy in her “Hope” crib. Next, here we are (Naomi Alon and Gerri Panebianco) perfecting the gorgeous custom crib bedding by Carousel Designs. Most of the textiles in the room (including the fabulous blackout curtains) were made by Carousel Designs, and we just can’t say enough about the quality of their beautiful products (plus the “Nursery Designer” tool on their website is just so much fun to play with!!).
The fantastic nursery rocker and coordinating ottoman were made by SPI Baby specifically for this room and they are beyond gorgeous!
And although Laila Ali is known for being super tough (following in the footsteps of her legendary father Muhammad Ali), she wanted her baby’s room to be filled with sweetness. So, we added a gorgeous, sparkling chandelier and ceiling medallion by the brilliant team at Silly Bear Lighting.
Then, we added some serious “bling” to a Little Crown Interiors wall monogram!
What could be sweeter than the cherubs gracing the artwork on each side of the window? Both framed pieces are available from Art.com. Finally, to round out the design, we chose a beautiful rug from Dash and Albert plus a sparkling floor lamp from Pottery Barn Teen. And voila!

Favorite Items:
Perhaps the best part about working on this celebrity nursery was getting to use the “Hope” Crib. Made in a gorgeous shade of pink, this stunning crib is the combined effort of Little Crown Interiors and Southern California based luxury furniture maker, Newport Cottages.
As proceeds from the sale of every “Hope” Crib go to Breast Cancer Research, the piece serves as a symbol of the courage and compassion for which Laila Ali is known, and hopes to share with baby Sydney. Each “Hope” Crib comes with a custom plaque for the owners to inscribe a sentiment of their choosing; on Sydney’s, the inscription reads, “Unconditionally Loved and Eternally Blessed.”
