Description
Many boys have their items that they collect, whether its cars or baseball cards. This little boy collects books. This bedroom was focused around the book wall. The book wall acts like art. However, this art is filled with knowledge and laughter and creates beautiful memories and traditions.
Design Inspiration
We live in Chicago so I wanted something bright and cheerful because the summer days are the best days in Chicago. The base of the design was all white with pops of bright colors. The ceiling was painted blue to feel like you are reading outside under the sky. The art and accents that was installed uses different tones of blue to compliment the blue ceiling. The side table was a natural wood element to bring in the natural materials from the outside. There are reading friends that sit in the chair and read with him.

Favorite Items
The book wall is my favorite item. Because I am a designer, I originally designed this large bookshelf that spanned the entire wall that looked like a tree. But the price came in way too high. So to keep the budget down I used shelves from IKEA and had them be the same color as the wall so they just go away and the books are the focal point and act as ART. This art brings memories and laughter with the kids every night before bed. Its my sons favorite element in the room.
