Kate’s Modern Turquoise and Coral Nursery

Description

This nursery was designed when I found out that my husband and I were having a baby girl. I wanted the room to be fun and bright and love the turquoise and coral color combination.

Design Inspiration

This room was initially designed as a nursery for our son with navy and lime green accent colors. When I created the room for a baby boy I purposely chose design elements that could easily be changed in order to make the room into a nursery for a baby girl. The birch trees were specifically chosen as the focal point of the room and I knew that they would remain my design inspiration for the redesigned nursery. I changed the accent colors to turquoise and coral and found new wall art that matched the room. Also, I had sheets made for the crib to match the new room colors.

Decorating Style

I love decorating rooms with modern design elements. I tried to create a room that was bright and inviting.

Favorite Items

This is a tough question because I love so many elements of this room. The birch trees are the focal point of the nursery and I think they turned out great! The coral owls are fun and super cute! As far as furniture goes, I'm a huge fan of the crib, which was a splurge for me. The dresser was definitely a lucky find and fit the look I was going for perfectly.

I also love the unique items that my sister (check out her Etsy shop) and mom made for the room. The book sling, crib sheet, owl, puppy, and curtain ties were all made to match the decor of the room.

Advice

If you're planning to use the same room for a nursery for more than one baby it's in your best interest to design a room with decor that can easily be changed to accommodate either a boy or a girl. I was able to take our son's nursery and design a completely new look for our baby girl without spending a ton of money or time. I was also able to keep my favorite elements of the room for both babies.

Thank you so much! It is a Keekaroo changing pad. Keekaroo has a website, or you can purchase on Amazon.
