Description

I wanted to create a fun and whimsical space for Jaxon.

Design Inspiration

I knew I wanted to incorporate images of adorable animals in Jaxon's room.  My inspiration for the nursery came from the colors of the jungle.  I wanted to create a warm and welcoming space without spending a fortune.

Decorating Style

As our home is decorated in neutral colors, I wanted to introduce bolder colors into Jaxon's nursery.  I incorporated many pieces we already owned  including a dresser, side table and lamp along with some new pieces like a glider and the artwork.

Project Details

For additional details on the room, check out my blog, The Lovely Bits.

Favorite Items

I fell in love with the fabric from Calico Corners I used for the curtains and the baby animal prints from The Animal Print Shop.  My mom and I made the mobile from branches given to us by a local florist and added the rain drops which were decorations from a brunch thrown by my mom and sister.

Advice

I wanted to create a space Jaxon could live in for years to come.  I also wanted to equally enjoy the space myself as I knew I would be spending endless hours in the room the first few months of his life.

Great job! Where did you get the mobile/chandelier you have hanging in the corner of the room?

    Noor,
I purchased 6 yards of fabric. The ceiling is 9 feet (108 inches) and the curtains hang 2 inches below the ceiling. The window is very large – 72×72. I have the curtains hanging floor to ceiling. Hope this helps!

Nice, but doesn’t this person know not to hang anything over the crib that can fall? It’s dangerous, but who cares about potential danger when you can show off your kid’s room? Great mothering right there.

You’re comment is incredibly rude. I hope if you have children of your own you teach them to be a lot more polite and gentler than you are. I’d worry about your own mothering skills.

I really like the rug – can you tell me where you got yours? I located one similar but was reading the comments from other buyers and they said theirs shed a lot – did you find that your rug shed?

I know this is an old post but I LOVE this crib. The link provided takes you to another crib, do you know the brand of this crib by chance?
