Henrik’s Nursery « previous return to gallery next » A Project For: Henrik Age: Due late April 2013 Location: Chelsea, Michigan Description: Nursery for our little boy Henrik who's due in April. Design Inspiration: All over the place! I was scouting ideas for a long time to get inspiration. Decorating Style: We were aiming for less babyish and more sophisticated while still obviously being a baby's room. Project Details: Painted both of the dressers starting with stain block primer Husband built the book ledges Giraffe Bust from Restoration Hardware: http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod379435&categoryId=rhbc_cat337024 Jenny Lind crib: http://www.amazon.com/Davinci-Jenny-Lind-Stationary-White/dp/B002T1HH1I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357607442&sr=8-1&keywords=jenny+lind+crib Rug from Overstock: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Hand-hooked-Alexa-Moroccan-Trellis-Wool-Rug-5-x-8/5777732/product.html Underappreciated Animal cards from KickStarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/679185845/under-appreciated-animals-abcs-matching-game-and-f Most other art from Katie Daisy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/thewheatfield?ref=pr_shop_more Plush Giraffe, Melissa and Doug: http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-2106-Giraffe-Plush/dp/B00009YEGL/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1357607641&sr=1-1&keywords=melissa+and+doug+giraffe Favorite Items: The plush giraffe and the Katie Daisy art are some of my favorites. I loved the idea of incorporating Michigan (where we live) and New York (where my parents live) in art for the room. Advice: I think picking a solid color that pulls things together and looks sophisticated really gives it a more polished look. In our case that was the navy but I think you have plenty of options.
