"Oh the Places You'll Go" is the theme of this nursery with travel accents and soothing colors for a baby boy. Retro cars, a vintage pram, a family silhouette, maps and much more make this travel themed nursery picture perfect!

Design Inspiration

When I started Conrad's nursery, I didn't really have a theme in mind. I knew I wanted neutrals and that was about it. I started buying things here and there that I liked. The first few purchases were the silver retro cars, then came the rug. I loved the idea of a "travel/automobile" theme and it really all came together after I fell in the love with the quote "Oh the places you'll go!"

Decorating Style

My decorating style usually consists of neutral colors because I think they are classic and timeless. I like pops of patterns and designs within a simple, clean and inviting space.

Project Details

I found my Crib on It's by Lolly & Me and similar to what I had originally wanted from Restoration Hardware, but over half the price. Most items were purchased from (including the crib), Ikea, Home Goods and a few other of my favorite stores.

Favorite Items

I have so many favorites in Conrad's nursery, but I think my most favorite is the silhouette in the room. It was of my husband (Conrad's Daddy) when he was a little boy. My MIL gave me the original and I had copies made then I framed it. I had wanted to incorporate a silhouette in the nursery somehow and then when I got to use one of my husband, it was such a priceless gift and extra special part of the nursery.

Don't feel like you have to stick with an exact theme! I felt the pressure to do this, but I just wasn't into the nursery being an over kill of a "theme". I wanted it to have sweet, cute touches for a baby boy, but not something he would grow out of right away. My advice: start looking around and purchasing things you like. That's what I did and it all came together as if I had planned it all along. Be true to your sense of style and everything will fall into place!
