Baby Girl Gray and Yellow Nursery

Description

Yellow and Gray Nursery designed for a baby girl. Both Modern and Feminine

Design Inspiration

My inspiration was the gray owl stuffed animal that I found as soon as we found out we were pregnant. It was the first baby thing that I bought because even though we didn't know the gender, I knew I wanted to use gray in our baby's room . I love the different textures of this owl and I knew I wanted different patterns and textures in the nursery.

Decorating Style

My usual decorating style in the rest of our house is country-rustic but I would describe my style for this particular project as Modern and Feminine.

Project Details

Bedding, Curtains, and Changing Pad Cover: Land of Nod, Not a Peep Crib Bedding

Rug: Lighting Emporium, a local furniture store

Glider: Little Castle Charleston Swivel Glider Collection

Crib: Given to us by a family friend. It was originally dark brown and masculine, but we added a braided trim and painted it with chalk paint. Click Here to learn more about the crib project.

Gray Shelf with chalkboard drawers: TJMaxx

You are My Sunshine Plaque: TJMaxx

Cream/White Side Table: TJMaxx

Yellow and Gray Chevron Shelf: Hobby Lobby

Gray Owl: Pier One Imports

Floating Bookshelf Wall: This was a DIY project that my husband and I worked on. Click here for more details of this project.

I AM HIS wall print: This is a personal product of mine that I sell on my Etsy Shop, YellowDeskDesigns, Daughter of a King

Personalized Owl wall Print: This is a personal product of mine that I sell on my Etsy Shop, YellowDeskDesigns, Personalized Owl Print for Girls

KARIS letters above the crib: This was a DIY project. I got the letters from Hobby Lobby (when they were 50% off of course) and I used scrapbook paper for the designs. After tracing each letter onto the paper, I used mod-podge to adhere the paper to the wooden letters. Then I added a lace ribbon to the back for hanging.

White Wicker Baskets: Hobby Lobby

Favorite Items

I love too many items to just choose one as a favorite, but I think the items I like the best are the crib, book wall, and changing table wall because of all of the DIY projects and the time we put into making them. I also love the I AM HIS custom wall print.

Advice

Take your time and don't try to finish the whole room at one time. Spend a lot of time researching and planning. Shop around until you find the PERFECT item at the right price. There is no reason why you can't have the nursery of your dreams on a budget! :) The more patient you are-- the more satisfied you'll be in the end.
