Grace Eleanor’s Peach Nursery

Description

A peach and turquoise nursery for baby Gracie with gold accents. We refinished a vintage, consignment shop dresser in peach for the changing table.

Design Inspiration

Pinterest. We found a turquoise and peach crib bedding set that we loved, and we designed the nursery from there. As with almost all rooms in our house, we finished the room with metallic accents. A little gold and shimmer always makes a room feel more special.

Decorating Style

As with almost all rooms in our house, we finished the nursery with metallic accents. A little gold and shimmer always makes a room feel more special.

We typically go for the Restoration Hardware look at a fraction of a cost. I look for inspiration from Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware and then look for more affordable pieces from Homegoods, Hobby Lobby, and Etsy.

Project Details

We bought an unfinished name sign to hang above the crib from Moon Sail Creations on Etsy. This enabled us to paint the sign with the same peach paint as the dresser for a perfect match. This shop was great to work with and even allowed us to customize the font for no extra charge.

The Roald Dahl quotation above the rocker came from Quotes of Note shop on Etsy. Again, a great shop to work with. Although the listing was for a yellow sign, she painted the canvas peach for us at no extra charge with a fast turnaround.

Our crib bedding and changing pad cover came from the Etsy shop Lottie Da Baby. You must plan ahead as the shop takes about 10-12 weeks for custom orders. We are still waiting for a peach ruffle crib skirt for our nursery to be complete.

For the gallery wall, I collected pictures from my favorite stores- Hobby Lobby and Homegoods-The gold pictures-I'll eat you up I love you so, Amazing Grace, the letter "G," and the crown- all came from Hobby Lobby. The gold mirror came from Homegoods along with the glass jars used to hold the pacifiers and headbands. The toy box and other storage baskets also came from HomeGoods.

The toy box is filled with my favorite childhood dolls and horse that my grandma gave me at our shower. The other stuffed animals are JellyCat brand.

We love our gray rocker. It was a gift from my mom from Target.

We ordered the gray Jenny Lind crib from Wayfair. It can also be found at Amazon and Target.

The dresser/ changing table is a vintage piece from a local consignment shop. We sanded it and painted it peach.

Favorite Items

The vintage dresser and Grace sign- both of which we painted peach ourselves.

The toy box filled with my favorite childhood dolls and stuffed horse- gifts from my grandmother that she had saved as a shower gift.

Advice

Tip 1- By painting the dresser/ changing table and Grace name sign ourselves, we were able to perfectly match the color, select the perfect peach, and save some money.

Tip 2- Use Etsy for homemade items when you don't have the time or talent to DIY. Etsy shop owners are great to work with and will often customize a piece to match your vision if you just ask. We asked for pieces to be painted peach and shop owners were happy to customize pieces for us at no extra charge.

Tip 3- Create a vision board on Pinterest. Beg, borrow, and steal ideas from others without shame.

What a lovely nursery. What paint color did you use on the dresser? I've been looking for a similar shade and just can't find the right one.
