Glam Nursery in Rich Jewel Tones

Description

This little girl's nursery is all glam, all the time! From the bold eggplant color walls, the sumptuous silks and velvets, and the elegant mirrored end table, this nursery is anything but ordinary. The client's choice of dark, rich woods are in perfect harmony with the deep jewel tones of eggplant and green, and adding pops of ivory added the right amount of contrast. This nursery uses a layered look to give it luxury and depth, such as the stenciled damask panels behind the crib layered with colorful art hung from silk ribbon. I am so excited about how this project turned out, and I hope it provides lots of inspiration!!

Design Inspiration

The client loved dark wood furniture and the jewel toned colors of purple and green, and she had a gorgeous damask stencil that she wanted to incorporate. We decided to go bold and create the entire room in this elegant shade of purple with matching silk floor to ceiling drapes, and that created the backdrop for the entire room. Everything else was layered on from there.

Decorating Style

Modern chic with a vintage flair.

Project Details

The walls are painted in Sherwin Williams Grape Harvest. Make sure if you are painting a bold color in a room with a lot of natural light to tone down the sheen- use an eggshell or flat finish to avoid glare on the walls. The whimsical growth chart was from seller JaneyMacPress on Etsy.com- I am in love with Etsy and all the fabulous homemade creations available! The iron and crystal wall sconces are from Pottery Barn Kids.

Favorite Items

The fabrics make this room so special- I love the floor to ceiling purple silk drapes! They set the color of the entire room and are so rich and luxurious. I also love the custom silk and velvet crib bedding and the ruffled accent pillow. The fabrics in this nursery are not for the faint at heart but they give the room an ultra glamorous feel.

Advice

Don't be afraid of color! Choose a unique color pallette and really go for it. For more information on this room check out www.Lilli-design.com.

I was curious where you found the crib mobile?  One of the cutest ones I've seen anywhere.  Thanks!

I love this bedding and would love to make one similiar to this. I know this is a really random question to ask but wondered if you would be willing/able to still purchase the fabric needed for this bedding. If you could please let me know that would be very much appreciated. I have scoured the internet trying to find some similar fabrics. Thanks a bunch.

Thanks for all the positive comments! To address the questions, I do not think the rug is available from Target anymore, but there are similar green and brown damask rugs at Pier One, WorldMarket.com, and InsideAvenue.com. The bedding was custom made using silks and velvets sold at Fabric Factory in Dallas. The crib is from Babies R Us, and the changing station is a custom made piece built to recreate the Madison changing station at Pottery Barn Kids. Best of luck to everyone with your own creations!
