Description:
The nursery that we created for our daughter. The project itself took approx. 3 months. The room itself is fairly narrow, difficult to work with at times but we made the best of the space. My ultimate goal was to keep it clean, bright... and functional. The use of the dresser as a change table was a perfect option for this room.
Design Inspiration:
Pretty fabrics and different textures. The first item I purchased for the nursery was the bedding. I had it custom made from a fabric that I found online the day after we found out we were having a girl.

After finding the fabric, I focused on textures. The curtain has a beautiful leaf texture that mimics the leaves in the print on the fabric.
Decorating Style:
Mix and match. I like simple clean lines, but I also wanted to keep a traditional nursery feel by using bright colours and fun fabrics.

Lamp - My husbands lamp from him childhood nursery.

Artwork - The artwork above the dresser was a gift from my aunt who had one of my drawings framed as a gift for my shower. So thoughtful, and who knew I was so talented ;)

Bench - My best friend and her hubby made the bench for us as a shower gift, I really appreciate the creativity, the time and the thought that was put into that gift.
Favorite Items:
My favorite item is the crib, it is exactly the right amount of clean and girly. The crib itself can be dressed up to be an over the top princess crib, but with the right amount of simplicity it works perfectly for our style.
Advice:
Use your creativity, don't worry about matching every little thing, sometimes a theme can take on a million different personalities... just go with it!

You’re bedding’s print is really lovely. But what really caught my attention was that lamp. Really cute! And it’s great to know it’s from your husband. It would make a really charming heirloom piece. By the way, did you add those turtles or are they really included?

Thank you! The turtles are original from the lamp. The only thing that was “altered” is the shade, the original lamp had a yellow gingham shade.

You were going for clean and bright, and you achieved it! The nursery’s indeed clean and bright, and colorful, too. Sometimes it’s difficult to mix clean and colorful together, but you did just that.
