I wanted the nursery to be one-of-a-kind, fun and colorful and still girly. I didn't want it just say baby. I wanted her to grow up and be inspired by it, and to give her little places to play and read and imagine. I hand painted the tree mural and a laser level and painters tape made the sun rays very easy.
Design Inspiration:
The main inspiration for the room was the song "You Are My Sunshine". All the other details were things that reminded me of sunny days.
Project Details:
The rug is Dwell Studios. The crib and dresser are from the Munire Bristol Collection. The shelves are Ikea Ribba picture ledges. The crib bedding is Pottery Barn Kids Harper and Baby Blooms collection (discontinued). The pink birds are paper mache and wire that were purchased at West Elm and I painted to match the room. The white lamp is from Target that I added pink ribbon to. The bird mobile was purchased on Etsy.
Favorite Items:
I love the bird mobile and the tree mural together. I also love the window seats.
Advice:
Choose things you love and you'll never tired of them.

A really cute and unique take on the “You are my sunshine…” Those birds on a twig are so lovely, by the way. And I really like the idea of that study nook.

I am not a fan of the sun rays on the wall by the crib, but I’d say the details of the room are lovely. I also find the layout of the room — with those nooks/caved corners quite unique and interesting.
