Geoffrey’s Gender Neutral Nursery

Description

I designed and put together the nursery while I was pregnant. We knew we were having a boy, but I still wanted to keep the nursery gender neutral because we plan on having more kids. It turned out better than I even imagined. It's my favourite room in the house and I love spending time in there.

Design Inspiration

I love the grey-white-yellow colour scheme, but felt it was a bit too cold for such a large room, so I added the soft blue-green walls. I found a few of the projects on Pinterest (such as the mobile, and the tree decal).

Decorating Style

I love combining vintage with modern, and using soft colours.

Project Details

The first item we knew was going in the room was my antique dresser, which we decided to use for the changing table. The crib was bought for us new, and we got the other furniture items very cheap (dresser on clearance at IKEA, and the glider was from Kijiji and then recovered with new fabric). I made the mobile from felt, and a close friend of my designed the artwork and gave it to me at my baby shower. The Pottery Barn bedding was also a gift, and matches perfectly.

Favorite Items

I love the mobile. I'm really quite proud of it. It brings all the colours of the room together and it's so light and soft.

Advice

Come up with a colour scheme, and then adapt what you already have.
