Fitz’s Colorful Nursery

Description

Fitz's colorful nursery is filled with all the things that I love- color, clean white furniture, beautiful fabric, lots of books, art by some of my favorite artists, and most importantly- handmade touches that were made with love that have special meaning. It started as a big, bland, empty space that sat in the front of our house for over a year until we learned that we were being blessed with a baby boy. Slowly but surely Fitz's Mimi (my mom) and I started gathering and creating pieces one by one until it was filled with love and ready to welcome this sweet baby boy into our lives.

Design Inspiration

We knew we wanted the spaceĀ to feel happy and filled with love for our little Fitz. It started with choosing the fabric for the bedding- which took someĀ time to find the perfect color match and patterns that I had envisioned in my head. OnceĀ the fabric arrived, the nursery started coming together.

Favorite Items

ThreeĀ of my favorite pieces in Fitz's nursery is the beautiful bedding which was made by my Mom with fabrics that we chose from Spoonflower- it is a fun mix of color and pattern that I hope Fitz will love as he grows.

The gallery wall above his dresser/changing table were collected by myself from some of my favorite artists such as Curly Girl Design, Sarah Jane Studios and Katie Daisy. The finishing touches for the wall came after Fitz arrived once we were able to add a couple of frames with some of his newborn photos that were taken by a friend, Mariah Evans Photography.

Lastly, would be all of the handmade details throughout the nursery made by my mom, Fitz's Mimi. Each time I look at them it reminds me how LOVED this little one is.

Advice

Have fun with it and personal details and touches make all the difference!
