E’s Cheerful Space

Description

We tried to create a bright and cheerful room for our little girl. We made or refinished a lot of what is in the room, so it makes it really special for us and for E.

Design Inspiration

My inspiration primarily stemmed from the fabric collection I found on Spoonflower. I love the bright colors that were definitely girl without going overboard. Soon after I found the fabric, I found a blog where they had also used the same fabric collection. I modified several of the ideas from there to fit our room.

Decorating Style

Clean and simple. I'm also a big bargain shopper and love scouring out deals. Most of our house is a neutral palette with pops of color in each room.

Project Details

All of the fabric in the room is from Heather Dutton's collection on Spoonflower. She has some really great prints available!

Favorite Items

My favorite thing in the room is the bird mobile. I love the way it dances and spins when the fan is on. I made it using scraps of fabric left over from other projects. The whole thing only cost me $10 in supplies. Compare that to the $150 version that was my inspiration.

Advice

Don't buy what you can make yourself! In this room, we made everything from the bedding, the cornice box, the mobile, the bookshelf, fabric books, and lots of the art. We even refinished an old dresser and side table. You can check out my blog, Baby Love Bliss, to see more about my projects.

Wow,very lovely room! I like what you did with those cute frames above the changing table. I have to check Spoonflower. From your photos, I could see that they have such pretty fabrics. I find their patterns simply delicious!

I added a link to my blog above. For the cornice boxes, I followed the instructions from here. It was probably one of the easiest projects and only took me about 45 minutes to do.

The paint is Benjamin Moore's Barren Plain that we had color matched to Olympic's No VOC line.
