Elliott’s DIY Woodland Inspired Nursery

Description

Elliott's woodland inspired nursery was lots of fun to create! A majority of the items were handmade by me and I hope you enjoy viewing them!

Design Inspiration

The inspiration for the room came from Colin Meloy's young adult series, Wildwood. It takes place in the woods of Oregon, so I pulled the woodland theme loosely from that. Overall, I wanted a whimsical, young feel to the room.

Decorating Style

My decorating style could best be described as simple, organized, and homey. I wanted to create a space that was beautiful, yet have it remain youthful. It was important to me that this be a space a child would love, full of color and functionality.

Project Details

Plum Passion Paint: Valspar

Metal Tree Hooks: Target

Book Racks: IKEA

Orange Spotted Rug: IKEA

Several of these items were made by me, but here are some of the places I bought my supplies:

Curtain and bedding fabric from Hobby Lobby

Wooden blocks for display above crib from Etsy. And I must say that Al does great custom orders with a fast turnaround time!

Favorite Items

My favorite item would probably be the tab top curtains with tiebacks that I made. Incidentally, they were the last item made/purchased for the room and they really tied the room together!
