An Eclectic Navy Twin Nursery for Two Boys

Description

These rooms are for two very special, much prayed for and hoped for little boys, and are the result of a mama who has wanted to be a mama for a VERY long time!  We wanted a perfect room for our twin baby boys to share that wasn't too babyish and would transition well as they grow into little men.

Design Inspiration

When we found out that we were expecting, I knew I wanted to do a navy nursery with a sky blue ceiling and that I wanted teal, gold, and red accents.  Everything just kind of fell into place from there.  When choosing decor accessories, we chose things that have a special meaning to us.  The taxi cab, for example: when my husband was in kindergarten, he was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up.  He answered simply:  "A daddy…or a taxi driver."  We are huge Alabama fans (Roll Tide!), so the elephant and Alabama print were obvious choices.  :)  The anchor and cross in the gallery wall are a reference to a favorite verse, Hebrews 6:19: "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."  Hope has been a fundamental part of our lives during struggles with infertility and years of fertility treatments.  These boys are, for us, the picture of hope fulfilled and of God's perfect timing.

Decorating Style

I love beautiful, comfortable things that feel like home.

Advice

It took LOTS of time and searching to find just the right pieces that we had envisioned…my best advice is don't settle for anything less than just what you've dreamed of!
