Description:
I had a hard time thinking of a nursery theme for my son’s room, all I could think about was what I didn’t want (monkeys, jungle, and sports). And than I came upon so classic Dr. Seuss books at the store and it was like a light bulb went off! My husband and I could remember reading those books as children and how they seemed to inspire creativity and encourage imagination! After we got the nursery started the theme continued to speak to us and helped us choose our baby’s name! Who would have thought that a cat in a hat could inspire so much!
-
Design Inspiration:
The classic Dr. Seuss stories and The Cat in the Hat
-
Decorating Style:
budget, contemporary, and electic
-
Project Details:
Since we couldn’t paint I brought in lots of color with the bedding, curtains, and rugs. I didn't want everything "match-ie match-ie", so I pulled pieces from all over and used more a color scheme than a character based one. And not to mention that we started collection all the Dr. Seuss books. Bedding from www.babiesrus.com Hanging toy basket, rugs, and mirrors from www.ikea.com Crib and dresser are Sorelle Gia from www.cribs.com

Favorite Items:
I have to pick one? I can't - my top three would be my glider, the mirrors, and the growth chart (made from a poster that came from a school classroom decortion kit from Michaels)
-
Advice:
Don't buy everything "match-ie match-ie" ... Dr. Seuss didn't stay in the lines so don't feel that you have to! Everything works in Seussville!
