DIY Gray and Pink Themed Nursery

Description

This nursery is little piece of my heart and the very room where my dreams came true; in it I discovered a love like none other...and have fallen in love many times since. I had always dreamed of having a little girl, so when I found out Amalia was on her way I so excited to create for her a feminine and enchanted space.

I really enjoy styling and creating myself, so that is how I began. I chose the colors; an accent of pink and a gray base. I thought gray was a nice base that she could grow with, but the accent colors and decor could always be changed. My inspiration piece started from the ribbon wall, from there I went on to make the up-cycled ribbon lampshade. I up-cycled the manzanita trees from my wedding and decorated with crystals, flowers and the letter 'A' for her name. I then added touches of a chandelier, my own vintage ballerina porcelain light cover and even poms. Even her curtains are made with love, with the guidance of her grandmother.

Design Inspiration

I wanted a clean, feminine room with romantic touches- and I feel that achieved just this. I am sharing her nursery in hopes that it can inspire other parents to craft their own baby's nursery, because knowing that I poured my heart into designing her room makes it that much for meaningful for us. I hope you love it too!

Decorating Style

I love clean, fresh and sunlit spaces. Soft colour palettes; of greys and whites.

Favorite Items

The trees...they are from my wedding and I feel as though they are a part of us, and have now been apart of her. I also love the symbolism of trees; strong roots, at one with nature, etc.

Advice

Keep things clean; try not to over clutter. You want your statement peices (ex. ribbon wall) to stand out, so try not to fill the walls too much. Also, incorporate sentimental pieces (ex. my childhood light switch, trees from our weddings, etc), this will really help make the space feel special and remind you of beautiful times passed, and to come.
