Creative DIY Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 1st Birthday Party!!

Description

I planned and designed a birthday party to celebrate my son's 1st Birthday! Having a love for event decor, I knew from the beginning that this was going to be a hands-on project.

Design Inspiration

My son's favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate his memorable day with friends and family other than with his favorite cartoon! Plus, I also figured that the theme would be very popular with the kids in attendance. I wanted to do something a little outside of the box, so I decided to change the  decor colors and not go with the typical Mickey Mouse colors (blue, red, yellow, & white). In the end I think it all worked together beautifully!

Decorating Style

DIY projects all the way! I love to do arts & crafts and work with my hands. So a majority of the items were made by hand--an enjoyable labor of love!

Project Details

DIY Projects:

I made the name flag banner for the dessert table and his high chair by cutting colored card stock, letters I made on the computer, and threaded ribbon through holes I punched in the top of the flag. I made the centerpieces using a basket, floral foam, character cutouts found on the web, wood stick, tissue paper, and topped with candy. My favorite was the photo montage I made, which showed pictures of Bryson from birth to his birthday. The fun item for the day was the Mickey & Minnie Mouse Ears for each of the kids. Lastly, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the favors but to let you know I used brown paper bags filled with age appropriate goodies & toys and personalized each bag with the child's name using colorful letter stickers!
