- A Project For: My daughter, Marann Lofton
- Age: 6.5 months
- Location: Mount pleasant, SC
I designed this nursery especially for my daughter Marann. She was born February 19, 2013. The nursery is vibrant and full of life just like her. A little bit modern, a little bit whimsical, and filled with so many things we love!
The rug from Anthropologie! After finding this little gem, I carefully selected pieces to compliment this special piece.
Modern/Contemporary with a touch of whimsy
Rug - Anthropologie, Crib - Oeuf Sparrow Crib, Chair - Nursery Works Empire Rocker, Dresser - Restoration Hardware Baby and Child, Mirror - Antique, Stool - Antique, Light Fixture - Troy Lighting, Name Banner - Rifle Paper Company, Abstract Artwork - One Kings Lane, Flamingo Print - GILT, LOVE Print - Madebygirl, Puppy dog artwork with text - Sugarboo Designs, Curtain - combination of Pottery Barn with a custom trim added to the bottom, Elephant - Celadon, Mount Pleasant, Baskets - Celadon, Mount Pleasant

The Rug! I also love the flamingo print. Oh, and the light fixture... I am obsessed with that too!
I like to find one piece that I can't live without, small or large, and build a room around that item, specifically. For Marann's nursery, it was the rug that I could not live without. I spend a lot of time looking for great deals, and one-of-a-kind finds. For some of the nursery staples, I went with neutral colors that could easily work in a second child's nursery in the future. The rug features so many fun accent colors, I was very careful too not go overboard with color in other places, so as to not compete with rug. We are really happy with the way it turned out, and I think baby girl likes it too!
