Come Fly With Me – Grayson’s Vintage/Modern Nursery

Description

Wanting to instill a love of travel in our little one, we desiged Grayson's nursery around all things travel in a vintage/mordern way. From the antique dresser, buffet, and globe, to the modern chervron rug and travel fabric, this room clearly is all about traveling the world. For a personal touch, we also framed vinatge maps of San Francisco (my hometown), Denver (my husband's hometown), and Phoenix (where we currently reside and where Baby G will be born).

Design Inspiration

Inspiration for this room began with the airplane mobile. I didn't want a room that was all about airplanes, but this was the perfect accessory to build the room around.

Decorating Style

Vintage Modern. I wanted to use a combination of old vinatge pieces, but throw in modern patterns, like in the rug and fabric. Using pieces of furniture and accessories with some history made the room that much more warm.

Favorite Items

I love the suitcases to use for toy, blanket, and book storage. They are usable accessories that add to the vintage theme. I love thinking about who they may have belonged to and where they have traveled.

Advice

Reuse, Reuse, Reuse! There are so many ways to repurpose and reuse items to give your space a personal touch.

Striped walls, chevron rug, framed maps. These are my faves in this room.
