Colorful Twin Gender Neutral Nursery

Description

An attic space was converted into a bedroom to create a cozy nursery for a baby boy & baby girl.

Design Inspiration

The mother wanted an animal motif for the twins' nursery.  We painted a colorful animal pattern on the wall behind the cribs as a focal point and a jumping off point for the room's color palette.

Project Details

For the crib bedding, we used aqua & orange for the boy & hot pink & orange for the girl.  We made a custom window treatment to cover an antique window that would allow for room darkening while the babies sleep.  Three of the walls in the room were painted in a rich navy that provide contrast with the white cribs and allow the mural to be the focal point of the room.

Favorite Items

I love the mural behind the cribs.  It just brings the room to life.  I also love the items that the mother made & framed to be part of the gallery wall above the changing table.  It's such a sweet personal touch.

Advice

Small spaces can be well designed & functional!  Careful space planning and thoughtful layout are key!
