Circus Birthday Party

Description

We celebrated my sons 4th birthday with a colorful circus bash! We served fun carnival type food (hot dogs, freshly popped popcorn, mini hamburgers, cotton candy, marshmallow pops, popcorn cupcakes, and even had a candy bar), had loads of carnival games and even had a magic show!

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by a vintage circus get well card that I found at a local shop.

Decorating Style

This party had a vintage feel to it with a modern twist. There were lots of bright colors, balloons, tissue pom poms and cut out vintage clowns, seals etc that I found in a book and had blown up.

Project Details

I decorated the table with some construction paper and had crayons there also so the kids could doodle on the table. Many of them left birthday wishes for Christian. I also decorated the table with vintage peanut bags that you can purchase here. I lined the table with vintage party hats and noise makers and my grandpa made a ferris wheel out of some tinker toys! I placed pom poms hanging from the center of the tents which added a real "magical" feeling to each tent.

The kids had to give us 2 tickets for each game they played. At each game they won a prize and could put them in their colorful loot bag I made for them.

My grandpa put together a magic show and then we played a round of musical chairs. Each child won a real gold fish which was an absolute suprise and hit with all the kids!

The invitations looked like a vintage circus ticket which I found here ( you can ask the designer to take of his watermark and he will send it to you for free!!!) along with a mini bag of popcorn!

Advice

This is a fun theme for either a girl or boy! There really isnt a wrong way to do a circus themed party!

Oh my, I'm sure everyone had a blast! A circus themed party is one party that both boys and girls would enjoy. I just think it's too costly, though.
