Circus Baby Shower

Description

This was a baby shower for my sister .  It was a buffet luncheon at Troon Country Club, but we wanted it to feel fun and relaxed.  We had circus type of food... hamburgers, popcorn,  hot dogs, and funnel cakes.

Design Inspiration

The baby bedding has an elephant theme, so we were inspired to do a circus shower.

Decorating Style

Whimsical Circus, Vintage, Hand-made.  The country club had fun circus tent fabric from a previous event that they draped over the buffet.  We used neutral linens to emulate the burlap tent feel and then placed bright colored napkins to bring in color.

Project Details

My mom, Sandy Walker of In Awe Weddings and Events  helped our friends with the planning for this event. The Invitations and Save the Dates were designed by me Flossy Stylish Design.  The Save the Dates were circus animal cracker boxes with a tag attached to them.  The invitations were created using a Cricut ticket cut out, and the inserts were ticket shaped and outlined the details of the event.  They were tied with a Midori silk ribbon and placed in a draw string bag which was hand stamped with a circus scene.  The cake was created by a family friend.  The favors were placed in popcorn holders from the dollar bin at Target.  They contained peanuts and frosted circus cookies. The flower arrangements were created by The Flower Studio  and placed in clear craft store buckets with circus scrapbook paper lining them.  The photo banner was from a Party store.

Favorite Items

The invitations, cute cake, the favors, and the funnel cakes!

Advice

This is a fun theme to duplicate.  Simply take patterns, textures, and materials that are all different and bring them together to create the vintage feel.  It's good if it looks hand made.  There is a lot more circus-themed items available since we planned this shower!  We bought supplies at Michael's, Joann's, etc.  along with using some of our contacts from the wedding industry to make it spectacular.

I think I accidentally gave it 4 instead of 5 stars! Ahh! Anyway, it is the cutest shower and shower idea I've ever seen. Love the shadow box idea with Ace's name. Perfect keepsake.
