Child’s Growth Chart

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by canvas growth charts I had seen in the blog-osphere. I was also inspireed to create it like a ruler to measure my little guys.

Project Details

To make your own you will need:

  •  a 6x2x8 board (got mine from Lowe's)
  • Wood stain
  • Saw
  • Hand Sander
  • Black Vinyl
  • Ruler
  • Deck Screws

To make your own growth cart - cut the board to the desired height. I cut mine to 6 foot tall. (If you don't have a saw or handy man - ask the nice guy at your hardware store to cut the wood for you!). Then stain the entire board. While that dries, cut your vinyl into strips. If you have a vinyl cutting machine use it to cut out numbers. Then figure out your placement. When the stain is dry (overnight), measure and place your vinyl strips and numbers.

Advice

Wear gloves while staining the board to avoid staining your hands. To view a full tutorial for this project you can view my blog post - http://poofycheeks.blogspot.com/2011/08/measure-as-they-grow-3-growth-chart.html
