Chase’s Woodland Toddler Room Featuring DIY Metallic Wood Wall

Description

This woodland toddler room was designed for my son when we found out he was going to be a big brother. I knew that I wanted to recreate a metallic wood wall I had seen on Pinterest and I loved the idea of a teepee! Navy and orange look great together and served as the main colors for the room.

Design Inspiration

I actually saw a metallic wood wall that was showcased on Project Nursery and that served as my design inspiration. Many individuals inquired about the paint used to create the wall and were then given the link to purchase a kit on Etsy for $800. At that point I became determined to figure out how to design a similar wall without paying a fortune. It took my husband a few weeks of trial and error, but in the end I couldn't be happier with the final metallic wood wall he designed. It really is the focal point of the room!

Please see my blog for further details regarding the paint used to design the metallic wood wall.

Decorating Style

I love decorating rooms using both modern and rustic design elements.

Favorite Items

I'd be lying if I didn't say that my favorite part of this room is the metallic wood wall! The bed frame and dresser were both painted with the same metallic paint used on the wood wall. Then the wood planks used on the wall were mounted onto the panels of the bed. This gave a super unique look to the furniture.

I also really love the teepee and the wall art. My sister made a quilt (check out her Etsy shop) and my mom made pillows that really add to the bed decor.

Advice

When you see a decorating idea on Project Nursery or Pinterest you can usually figure out how to create similar looks by spending time doing trial and error. Patience is key. Above all, have fun and add your own personal touches!
