A Project For
This is our first baby boy and I did not want to just go to a store and pick out a package nursery set and put it up- I wanted to hand pick and make many of the items ourselves.
My husband loves guitars and leads worship at our church and his only request was to have a touch of guitars in his first son's room. So we went from there!
For this room the decorating style is crafty modern :)
The idea for the room came from this fabric (Groovy Guitar by Michael Miller) http://www.fabric.com/quilting-fabric-shop-by-designer-michael-miller-fabric-michael-miller-novelty-michael-miller-groovy-guitars-lagoon.aspx?cm_vc=756b1813-cbc1-43b3-84bd-29889bf8fb7b
The crib was the babyletto 3 in 1 convertible crib with drawer
The storage unit was from ikea
The gray paint on the walls was Anonymous by Behr in Eggshell
Our monogram decal on the wall was from etsy.com
Most other items were made on our own/DIY projects:
Rain Gutter Bookshelves- http://www.mustlovebabies.net/2011/07/rain-gutter-bookshelves.html
Guitar Pick Mobile- inspiration from http://sewshesews.wordpress.com/2010/03/22/for-the-love-of-polka-dots-a-crib-mobile-tutorial/
My favorite item is the discontinued gray BabiesRUs rocker- it took a lot of effort to get this rocker before it was discontinued and it is so modern but comfy!
It was so much easier to find a fabric that I loved and create the room around that fabric. Color matching was easier, inspiration was easier. DIY projects made this room look expensive but with a very cheap price-tag.
