We wanted a royal feel for this nursery, to complement the feel of our next and last little one to join our family! Brooksie's nursery feels royal, but not gaudy. We love it!
Our baby girl, Brooksie, was our inspiration. Thought she's not born yet, we feel that she has a royal feel about her, and that she is fierce and strong, yet gentle and lovely. We designed the nursery to complement what God has told us about her! :)
Prints and color, with a clean feel! :)

Since the bedding was so expensive, we had to find the other pieces at a very discounted price and redo them. So many of the projects started out the wrong color, but we just brush painted them silver or gold.
We found the dress form at Hobby Lobby for $55, but it was black and white. I simply spray painted it silver and hot glued a tulle fabric, a bit of lace and some fake gems on it.
The bench was an old brown one from my grandparents' farm, and we just sanded it and painted it. I printed out a fleur de lis out on my printer, cut it out and then spray painted it onto the back of the bench. Then I got a cushion, fabric and buttons from Joanne's Fabrics and had an upholstery store assemble it for me. Instead of getting a new rocking chair, we bought extra of the bench fabric, and had our local upholstery store recover the cushions on our current chair.
Most of the wall decor came from Hobby Lobby, and we just brush painted each item a nice metallic (mostly silver) to contrast against the cream parts of the walls.
The curtains are from Target.
The rug is from RugsUSA.com...THIS IS A HUGE TRICK OF MINE! :) RugsUSA.com has BEAUTIFUL rugs at a fraction of the cost, and shipping is free!
My favorite item is the bench because of its sentimental value. But I also LOVE the bedding! :)
BE WILLING TO TRY! :) I had no clue how to redo most of these items, but with some research and with some effort, we got the look we were going for! :)
