Brooklyn is turning 1, and while we have all of our family and friends gathered, we are going to find out the gender of Brooklyn's sibling that is due February 20th, 2013!
Design Inspiration:
We had a Luau theme for Brooklyn's baby shower (since she was conceived in Hawaii, I know, TMI). We thought that we would carry on the tradition (and reuse some party decorations) for her 1st birthday party.
Decorating Style:
I love all things modern and contemporary - but when it comes to designing for children, I think you can throw out all the rules and have fun with combining styles and colors. I don't typically like themes, but I had so much fun with all of the tropical decorations, foods, and flowers!
Project Details:
I bought a lot of the paper products at Party City, but most of the fun details were DIY projects. The parasol wreath, the happy birthday banner, and the birthday signs were all made by hand.
Favorite Items:
I love the Happy Birthday Banner. It was pretty easy to make and can be used for years to come, for anyone really.

I love the theme. Hawaiian-themed parties are just colorful and flowery and so refreshing. I like that you incorporated the gender reveal for your second baby with the birthday party, too.

This party looked like a blast. Congratulations on being one of our favorites of the week!
