Description:
This room can function as a little girl's room who's spunky, yet chic. I wanted to create a room that was not too gender specific, that could also be used as a guest room.
-
Design Inspiration:
Colors were my inspiration. I like the gray and yellow color scheme, so my plan is to paint the wall behind the headboard gray to also bring out the pillows, painting and curtains (silvery blue, not photographed). From there my project blossomed and the room came together.

Decorating Style:
My style is more contemporary than anything, but Im eclectic, so I can bring in modern, and sometimes even rustic elements into my projects.
-
Project Details:
I love Ikea and Michael's! They have great decorating knick knacks that are inexpensive. The headboard is an old room divider wrapped in fabric from Ikea. I also took the same fabric along with another color fabric (from Ikea) and framed it (frames also Ikea). The painting is an original by me. The flower arrangement, I put together from Michael's. Finally, the mirror was painted by me (all by hand).

Favorite Items:
The Mirror, my painting, and the headboard.
-
Advice:
Find a color scheme, statement piece, or focal point and run with it. Pick up items as you go. You never know what you'll find.
