Briana’s Boudoir

Description

Briana is new little sister to 20 month old Brooklyn.  Both nurseries are upstairs in our home, so we wanted to make sure that there is always a place for mommy or daddy to sleep on difficult nights with the girls.  We also wanted to keep the option of using this room for guests when family or friends are in town, so we made the decision to keep the TV and the queen bed in the room.

Design Inspiration

The Ollie and Lime Logan Collection was our inspiration.  We were looking for a pink and gray color scheme, and this ended up being exactly was we were looking for when we saw it featured on Project Nursery.  The modern patterns and color combination worked great with some of the artwork we already had.  We loved that they had toddler bedding options to help us dress up the queen bed.

Decorating Style

Contemporary, modern, and vintage-modern.  I love to combine styles and colors.  We went with an antique look for my toddler's room, so we wanted to give this room a completely different look so the girls each have their own unique space.

Favorite Items

I'm torn between the rocker, the owl wreaths and the large B over the crib.  They are all DIY projects, and I loved how they turned out.  I also love the large wall graphic - all were a lot of work, but definitely worth it!

Advice

I spent months looking online for inspirations.  Once I compiled all of the images that I liked, I slowly started finding and collecting the items that helped to achieve the contemporary look I was going for.  I am also a BIG fan of picking a color scheme, and keeping the paint swatches in my purse at ALL times.  You never know where you're going to be when you find an item and wonder if it matches your exact shades of green or magenta!

Gorgeous colors. The cherry blossoms were also beautifully made. Are those wall decals?
